Server population???

Hello,

I do not speak German, so I apologize for typing this in English. I was wondering why the server pop on your bf3 servers jumps from 64 players down to 0, and then back up throughout the day? I am from the US so I don't know if this maybe has to do with the time difference and the fact that I am playing when everyone in Germany is asleep? I did notice though that there are other servers that remain populated 24/7 no matter the time. I am confused why this is not the case for your "premium mixed map" servers. They are either completely full, or completely empty. Do you shut down your servers at night?

If you could advise me on what time is the best time to play on your servers (please include the timezone), I would really appreciate it! I greatly enjoy the servers you offer, but cannot always seem to find one that is populated.

Hi

The servers are restarted every morning at 6am on friday CET, They are full almost everyday
servers 1 2 3 4 5 7 8 and 9 are regulary populated, we do get DDoS attacks so this will empty them
Obviously it does depend on the time of day also, but usually full 24/7.


CET is 6 hrs infront of New York if this helps.

That information helps a lot. But regarding the DDOS attacks, are you saying that the server will appear to be empty even though it is not? For example, I was looking to play last night around 9 pm ET, but the server showed 0 out of 64. Was the server actually populated? I didn't try and join because it looked empty.

I am aware that it is around 3 am in most European countries at that time, but for almost all of the servers to appear completely empty is odd. Unless no one was really playing last night? I am confused because the US servers seem to be populated regardless of what time of day it is. The European servers are much better to play on though

This all just might be coincidence, and the time difference might be the culprit. But I am curious if maybe the population is just listed incorrectly due to DDOS?? (not really sure how that works)

9pm ET the servers are usually populated, DDoS attacks will empty the server but will soon populate again, it's probably one of those things when you want to join and it's empty, they are not like that all the time, a lot of players from the US join the servers so it's just a matter of luck more than anything, #1 metro is always full along with #7hc server.

Thanks again! I probably should have clarified that I was most interested in your #2 server for the DLC's! That was the particular server whose population I noticed fluctuated from 64 to 0 based on time of day. I'll just take another look tonight and see if there are other people playing. It seems like only the European servers tend to play the DLC maps now :/

#6 and #7 are in "Hardcore Mode"
